There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. I got this in spite of some not so good reviews and I'm glad I did. One of the reviewers said it was all about Mormons, but I didn't find that to be true. There were a few things regarding Mormons, but not a whole lot. It is a good read and most of the problems that happen to him start with no communication or lost communication.

His aunt and uncle have disappeared before he gets there, which starts a lot of mystery of what has happened to them. Pranks get out of hand creating a fearful atmosphere for not just him, but new friends he makes along the way. All in all, I enjoyed this book very much and would ask that you have an open mind if someone wants to stop you because they believe differently than you. It's all in how you perceive things. I recommend this as a good mystery. Ted White, a music teacher, is on the rebound after being dumped by his fiancee when he agrees to house-sit for his aunt and uncle in a small town near the Arizona-Mexico border.

He arrives to find his aunt and uncle inexplicably missing and the house vandalized. All become involved in efforts to set things right, creating an intimate, caring small-town atmosphere where people reach out to others across races, religions and the whims of nature. The book is well-written, the characters rounded and credible, the plot fast-paced and logical and the reading experience enjoyable!

A question for author Raymond Spitzer: Got any more books coming soon? This panoramic view of Ajo is taken from the west side. The tailings and slag heap are on the far right. The mine is out of sight further to the right. This photograph shows Ajo as it really is - surrounded by desert. Rocalla Avenue ascends the hills on the west side of Ajo. Two more water tanks attest to the importance of water in this parched region.

In Arizona Guy Ted's aunt and uncle lived on this ridge overlooking Ajo.
